yes this! It would be great to have a 'department' drop down option, not just the status filter

Workload Planning Overhaul
G
Gloria Kriegh
The current calendar with it's filter options falls far short of what is needed for workload planning.
Being able to estimate the amount of time to setup and print a job is needed, instead of requiring someone to drag the calendar entry to a start time, and then adjust the end time on the calendar.
Need to understand when a job has a firm due date for an event, and which jobs could potentially slip.
Need to have artwork due dates identified somehow better than just having tasks to create the artwork assigned. The tasks lack information about when the production is scheduled, and the customer due date, so it is impossible to correctly prioritize the work effort.
We do a lot of other things than just screen printing - other things that are done by a 3rd party, which has a much longer lead and production times. Having a checkbox to indicate if a job is in-house, or outside would be helpful. Also a field to indicate production time-frame would help here also. This field could also be used as part of the solution for needing to adjust on the calendar. The field for Production Date could be split into 2 separate start/end date & TIME fields.
Ability to sort tasks by due date would help.
We need a better way to manage the work flowing into printing (artwork creation, ordering apparel, etc) and to ensure that orders with a hard due date will be met on schedule.
Thanks!

Split Production

Allow a job to be split into multiple parts on the production calendar. IE Run the Fronts on Monday and the Backs on Wednesday.
Sometimes longer jobs need to split. Also shouldn't have to run overnight.. looks messy on the calendar.

Job Status & Job Type
C
Caitlin Mayson
It would be great to be able to put in a job as a type of job using a color code/text and within that also have an updateable status for it. For example in our sign shop we have job types such as RUSH, Vehicle Wrap, Installation off site, and standard in-house production but would also like to know at what stage it is in (Design, Print, Production, Installation, Completed) Maybe this could be implemented in a way where in calendar view the encompassing color is the color designating the type of job and then a small boxed area within that for a color or star/color that would designate status, wherein that status is what can be shared with the client.

Production times

It would be very helpful for our Production Manager and team to have a visual on production times per job.
For example: a 200piece order front and back; 1 hour print for front, 1.5 hours for back print. That way all team has a visual on time per job.

Scheduling our weekly calendar
M
Mark Losiak
This goes along with my Business hours Vs 24 Hours Day on calendar.
Sometimes production runs into the next week, Can you make it easier to drag the job Status to the next week so it can reflect
a Thursday - Tuesday (4 day Production Time) on the calendar There is a way to do it, but it's not easy.

Separate calendar for PRINT SCHEDULE only?
R
Ryan Combs
Currently our shop uses google calendar and its okay but not great. The main overview calendar in Printavo since it shows EVERYTHING can be bogged down with too much stuff that may not happen for awhile or design projects that have nothing to do with printing... but not jobs that are for sure being printed in next 2 weeks, would love a separate calendar of some sort for this.

Schedules

It would be nice to have a production Schedule tab or the ability to have more that one calendars so that we can schedule Printing, Embroidery and Billing separately. So that each person in-charge of a particular division can move orders around based on their own task deadlines. Obviously linked to the original order.
