Michael Chong: Hello, we are redeveloping our Zapier integration using our new API v2. The first part of this will include redeveloping existing Zaps, followed by new Zaps that our customers have requested. We would love your feedback on what successful Zapier integration means to you if you are willing to share.

Push Trigger Events to Zapier

Currently Printavo triggers in Zapier function as poll events, that is, Zapier has to check Printavo every 5+ minutes to see if anything has changed. It would be much faster and make integrations more seamless if Printavo pushed changes to Zapier so zaps could be triggered instantly. As it is, every time one of our employees wants to send an order to one of our other systems via Zapier, they have to change the status, go do something else for 5 minutes, and then come back. When you have to do that dozens of times a day, it gets to be a big waste of time and leads to errors.

Update: I notice that Printavo seems to provide a webhook for shipping label creation so it seems like the infrastructure is somewhat at least available?
When working with the API, the only proper way to work with data in a "live" like manner is by polling the API and most modern dev practices go against polling + I'm sure it can be exhausting on your resources too. Webhooks would fix this.

Dakota, as I have one status that is the main trigger to Zapier, what I did was to set up a group task everytime this specific status is selected, with one task as "Change invoice status again". By the end of the day (or each morning) we clear those tasks.
That way, we try to minimize duplicated Zapier's actions when it has the triggered status selected.
But it's just a turnaround... the best thing, I think, was Zapier to be able to change automatically Printavo's Status, as a response that the zap was done sucessfully.

André Ferrari: Thanks for the suggestion! I agree having a "Change Invoice Status in Printavo" action would also be amazingly helpful.
